Genetic diversity is an important component of biodiversity. It generally refers to the sumof different groups or different individual genetic variations in certain species. The study ofgenetic diversity mainly focuses on morphological markers, cytological markers andmolecular markers. Genetic diversity study has important significance on the conservation ofbiological diversity and the sustainable use of biological resources. In this research, the geneticdiversity of101waxy maize inbred lines of different phenotypes were analyzed by SSRmarkers and morphological markers, the conclusions are as follows:(1)The101waxy maize inbred lines have extensive genetic variation in both agronomicand yield traits. The variation coefficients consistent with the results of single factor analysis. The results showed that12different traits of all waxy maize inbred lines have significantdifference, which are plant height, ear height, single panicle weight, axle load, single panicleweight, row grains, ear length, bare tip length tassel branch numbers, kernel weight, spitpumping intervals and ear rows respectively.(2)The101waxy maize inbred lines were divided into six groups according to the geneticdistance calculated by five main components obtained in the level of accumulatedcontribution rate equal to or greater than85%from12significant difference traits.(3)23pairs good polymorphic and stable type primers were screened out from30pairsSSR primers, evenly distributed on all maize chromosomes, and detected128bands and108alleles,average4.7alleles per pair primers.23pairs primers polymorphic information contentranges from0.59to0.94, with an average PIC value of0.85. SSR clustering results showedthat101waxy maize inbred lines were divided into ten groups and21subgroups.(4)Parents of the advantage hybrids used in this study to are from different groups, andthis study objectively verified the results of group dividing are true and reliable.(5) Compared with molecular markers, morphological markers can reflect geneticdiversity of waxy maize inbred lines used in this study in a certain extent.this result wasconsistent with the results of studies of Liu Xin-Zhi et al. on the other hand, morphologicalgenetic diversity analysis can complement morphological characters investigation for themolecular markers and provide a reference for future waxy maize breeding.
