Abstract/Summary:
Zinc is a necessary micronutrient element to humans and plant, we can increase yield by improving plant zinc nutrition, and it is vitally important to increase the zinc content in rice that can greatly improve human zinc nutrition and improve the level of human health. Hence, we study the impact of applying zinc fertilizer on rice yield and grain zinc content through different ways (i. e. different zinc fertilizer application way on rice, different zinc fertilizer for soil application and different zinc fertilizer for foliage application) in the field experiment, in Rudong, Jiangsu province. The results showed that:(1) The zinc fertilizer through soil application of foliage application had a significant impact on rice yield compared with no zinc fertilization in low Zn available soil. The yield increased effect was significantly increased with the increase of the amount of soil application of zinc fertilizer. And the treatment (soil application+foliage application) obtained the highest yield, the average increment of yield was10.2%. Soil application of zinc fertilizer was able to significantly affect rice yield and its composition factors, especially the panicle and grain number. The foliar spay of zinc fertilizer also has an effect on rice yield although the effect is not as good as soil application. The effect of soil application of different zinc fertilizers on rice yield in the soil with moderate zinc availability was little. But the Urea-Zn and Seed Zn-I could significantly improve the rice yield, and the increments of yield were8.7%and9.5%, respectively.(2) Compared with the CK, applying zinc fertilizer can significantly increase the content and accumulation of zinc in rice grain, and the (soil application+spraying application) had largest accumulation of zinc, which could be increased by21.6%on average. For the content of zinc in rice grain, the improving effect of foliar application of zinc fertilizer was greater than soil application. There was no significant effect on rice yield by foliar application of zinc fertilizer in the zinc lack of areas, but application of zinc fertilizer could significantly improve the content of zinc in rice grain. The different zinc fertilizers and applying stages could also have different effect on grain zinc content. Besides, spraying a0.5%ZnSO4·7H2O, Kali-EPSO-Zn, Valagro Brexil and FBS+ZnSO4·7H2O once in the rice booting and milky stage could be more effective to improve the zinc content of grain.(3) If the background value of soil Zn available is different, the zinc fertilizer application had different influence on rice yield and zinc content in grains even employing the same zinc fertilizer application method. And if the soil had lower zinc availability, the rice yield increased effect of zinc fertilizer application was more significant and the improving of zinc fertilizer application to the zinc content in rice grain was more sufficient.
