In the present study, rabbit and cattle were taken as models respectively to researchuterine involution’s regulatory mechanism and effectiveness by embedding catgut injiaochaoxue.Experimental methods:①Blood samples of8rabbits were collected on the5th daybefore embedding catgut, the embedding day, and the5th day,10th day,15th day afterembedding catgut to detect blood cell counts and leukocyte phagocytosis.②12pregnantrabbits were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. The rabbits inexperimental group were embedded catgut in jiaochaoxue, while the ones in control groupwere untreated. Six blood samples were collected respectively on the delivery day and everythree days once from that day for every experimental rabbit. Then ELISA kit was used todetect progesterone and estrogen levels in blood samples.③12pregnant rabbits wererandomly divided into control group and treated group. On the5th day,10th day and15th dayafter parturition, two rabbits were respectively selected from each group to get their uterus.We detected relative mRNA expression of PGR A and ERα in uterus.④20China Holsteincows were divided into experimental Group1and Group2. After delivery, cows in Group1were embedded catgut in jiaocahoxue, while those in Group2were injected oxytocin. Weobserved their situations of afterbirth eduction, lochia eduction and uterine involution.⑤15China Holstein cows were embedded catgut in different postpartum time with5onesconsisting of control group. And we recorded lochia eduction and uterine involutioncircumstance for every cow according to the criterion.Experimental results:①By embedding catgut in jiaochaoxue, not only white blood cellcount was significantly increased (P<0.05), but also the ability of leukocyte phagocytosiswas significantly improved (P<0.05).②Embedding catgut in jiaochaoxue had no significantimpact on progesterone level (P>0.05) and change rule of estrogen, but it increased thecontemporaneous estrogen level.③Embedding catgut in jiaochaoxue increased PGR AmRNA expression.④There was no significant difference between effects of embeddingcatgut and injecting oxytocin on afterbirth eduction (P>0.05). However, compared withinfecting oxytocin, catgut embedding treatment showed more evident effect on uterine involution (P<0.05).⑤The proper time of embedding catgut was in postpartum1~6hours,meanwhile, others were worse than the former (P<0.05) and showed no significant differencebetween them (P>0.05).In conclusion, embedding catgut in jiaochaoxue can enhance body immunity, increaseestrogen level and promote progesterone receptor expression. Eventually, it quicken uterineinvolution. Embedding catgut in postpartum1~6hours can produce the best effectiveness ofuterine involution for cattle.
