In this paper, the issu es of ecological su itability for traditional Chinesemedicine resou rces is stu died and practiced aplicating the relevant geographicanalysis method in GIS.On the basis of the theory and methods of traditional Chinese medicineresou rces ecology, statistical ecology and geographic analysis, the meaning andcontent of ecological su itability of Chinese medicine resou rce is describedgenerally, the advantages and specific application of geographic analysis insu itability stu dies are stated, and consequ ently the su periority of rationality ofGeographic analysis are highlighted in the su itability assessment applications, throu gh generalizing and comparing a variety of traditi onal analysis method sapplied in su itability research. Besides, the necessity and practical significanceof application of GIS technology and geographic analysis metho ds are drew to ademonstration..The indicator system of ecological suitability for Chinese medicineresou rces is established. T he indicators that influ ence the su itability oftraditional Chinese medicine (T CM), su ch as terrain, climate, soil, atmosphere, ecology and other factors are selected reasonably, on the basis o f analyzing theecological habits of plant-based medicine and sorting out the previou s researchin terms o f su itability analysis. Fu rthermore, the indicator system of suitabilityevaluation for traditional Chinese medicine resou rces is established and thetwo-level stru cture model o f index system is divided following the methods andprinciples of indicator system.A quantitative su itability evaluation system for a variety of Chinese herbalmedicine resources is constru cted. T he analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is adopted to quantitatively evaluate the impact of relevant in dicators in theindicator system reasonably, u sed to stu dy the su itability analysis model. The solution for a nalysis and evalu ation of suitability which combinesAHP-Fu zzy method with geographic analysis method s is pro posed. T hou ghspatial interpolation techniqu es to analysize single factor su itability, andcomprehensive analysis methods of spatial overlaying to stu dy mu lti-factorsu itability, su itability geographic analysis model and ecological su itabilityevaluation model are established. The traditional Chinese medicine suitability geographic analysis system i sdesigned and implemented based on B/S framework. T he sy stem complete sintegrated management of muti-sou rce vector and raster data related to theposition and ecological attribu tion of traditional Chinese m edicine. T he systemaccomplishe s the geographic analysis and evaluation model of AHP-Fu zzyabove. Pretreatment data and the resu lts of evaluation and analys is are able to bedisplayed by3D visualization.Experiments sho w that the analysis resu lts and the actual medicine’sgrowth are basically consistent, and the method for creating indicator systemand geographic analysis model are proved to be feasible and reasonble, from apractical point of view.In the end, methods of su itability geographic analysis of Chinese medicinein this paper was conclu ded, and the planning and expectation for the furtherresearch direction was proposed.
