The Tibaten migratory locust:Locusta migratoria tibetensis Chen was one of the most important pests in Tibaten plateau. In recent years, it causes serious damage in Xizang Autonomous Region, southern part of Qinghai Provence, and western part of Sichuan Provence. The tibeten migratory locust was transcribing and outbreak in Nyingchi, Millin, Blanc, Lhasa, and Lin Zhou successively and seriously affected the local farming and animal husbandry production fom70~90s of the20th century. In1999, the Tibet Lhasa, Xigaze, there has been a high density of Tibet migratory locust swarms. In recent years, the dry climate and ecological environment changes and the effect of some areas showed a trend of increase with some high density swarms. This paper mainly focuses on form, feeding, and epidemic regularity of contenct of Tibet migratory locusts in the LaSaHe river basin, the main results as follows:1. Significant difference on femur length, elytron length, maximum width of head, pronotum length, pronotum height, minimum width of pronotum between first instar, second instar, third instar, fourth instar, fifth instar and adults. Characteristics of different developmental stages also have significant differences between individual living less than scattered sex different age stages have significant difference between the same morphological characteristics; social individual was less than the scattered individuals.2. Tibetan migratory locusts were appeared1generation in one year amang the Tibetan plateau. The first instar hoppers was appears from late April and was into the incubation stage In mid-may and the adults was appears in early June, July for feather flower stage, August, September was to mate and Spawning stage. Adult in late November or early December, ovum overwintering in the soil, no adult winter.3. The determination of Tibet migratory locust control index and provides reliable theoretical guidance to the production, the prevention and control of economy under the permissible level, control index fo population density was1numbers/m2for prevention and control.Beacause of the the highland barley prices was in different year and different pesticide, different material cost, the prevention and treatment of indicators and the control index should be change in different years, among different regions. When the control index was relax appropriately, can obtain obvious economic benefits and ecological benefits in the process of comprehensive control of Tibetan migratory locust.
