Purpose: To study the relationship of the brain glioma between invasiveness and thedifferent position relations to subventricular zone.To find the likely locations of the brainglioma cells with stem cell characteristics.Methods: Collected36patients with brain glioma confirmed by pathological, Groupedby the relationship between the lesions and subventricular zone.Sectionalization methodA:group Ⅰ, CEL contacting SVZ and infiltrating cortex; group Ⅱ,CEL contacting SVZ butnot involving cortex;group Ⅲ, CEL not contacting SVZ but involving cortex; group Ⅳ,CEL neither contacting SVZ nor infiltrating cortex. Sectionalization method B: Tumors ofgroup Ⅱ and group Ⅲ are divided into two groups:nearly SVZ(group A) and nearlycortex(group B).contrasting and analyzing each group about the tumor size, pathologic stage,number of lesions,and MRS characteristic.Results: There are23patients infiltrating SVZ in total36glioma patients.The averagevolume of the focuses infiltrating SVZ are32.36±16.74ml.In pathological aspects(WHO2000)Ⅰ0, Ⅱ6,Ⅲ6,Ⅳ5,I-Ⅱ1,Ⅱ-Ⅲ3,Ⅲ-Ⅳ2,and4patients have multiple focus. Theseindicators were higher than not infiltrate to the subventricular zone of gliomas.Statisticsignificantly. In infiltration in the Subventricular Zone gliomas near cortex and nearSubventricular Zone, MRS reflect the fertile of near Subventricular Zone areas are higher.Conclusion:1. The surrounding brain tissue of subventricular zone is easyer to suffer fromglioma.And near to subventricular zone with higher pathological classification, its volume isbigger, and easy to have multifocal characteristics.2. MRS may to a certain extent reflect the glioma of hyperplastic. 3. In the group infiltration to the subventricular zone glioma, MRS reflect the fertile ofnear Subventricular Zone areas are higher, but need to a further research.
