| Objective To analysis the blink reflex data in patients with cerebralinfarction so as to understand the characteristics of blink reflex parameters resultsand to explore the clinical value of the blink reflex in patients with cerebralinfarction. Methods We investigated the results of the blink reflex of60cerebralinfarction disease patients from March2011to December2012in NeurologyDepartment General Cardiovascular Disease Hospital of Ningxia MedicalUniversity. All the patients were underwent blink reflex in1week after admissionand the same done with the60healthy control group during the sameperiod.Reference MRI results cerebral infarction group was divided into cerebralcortex group (30cases) and basal ganglia group (30cases). The parameters ofblink reflex: wave latency and amplitude of the stimulus side recorded as early asthe reflection (R1), late reflection (R2) and contralateral recorded late reflection(R2′).Compared blink reflex parameters with cerebral infarction group and thehealthy control group, the cerebral cortex group and basal ganglia group, whetherthe results were statistically significant difference. Results The cerebral infarction group total abnormal rate of blink reflexwas76.67%(46/60), in which different components accounted for36.67%(22/60)in R1,65%(39/60) in R2and58.33%(35/60) in R2′respectively. Compared R1,R2and R2′abnormal rate of cerebral infarction group, R2and R2′abnormal rates were significantly higher than R1, and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was significant prolongation of the abnormal rate of the blinkreflex in the patients with cerebral infarction compared with the healthy controlgroup (P<0.05). R1, R2and R2′latency in cerebral infarction group wassignificantly longer than that in healthy control group and amplitude in cerebralinfarction group was significantly reduced compared to that in healthy controlgroup, all differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05). Compared R2andR2′latency in basal ganglia group and cerebral cortex group, significantdifference were found (all P<0.05).Conclusion Abnormal blink reflex is characterized by R2and R2′withcerebral hemisphere infarction lesions. The abnormal R2and R2′of cerebralhemisphere infarction lesions further prompted R2and R2’ is a polysynaptic reflexactivity, and nerve conduction pathway with lead some damage or affected byinfarction lesions will all lead to abnormal R2and R2′.This study indicates thatthe cerebral hemisphere infarction lesions can lead to abnormal changes ofparameters of blink reflex, and blink reflex could be used as an referencedindicator whether the cerebral hemisphere infarction lesions affect the neuralpathways. |
