[Objective]This essay aims at talking about the ways to reduce the complication of twinpregnancy by understanding the prognoses of the twin pregnancy mother and baby.[Methods]The retrospective study starts from98cases of twin pregnancy delivered in theFirst Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University (Jun.1st.2010~Dec.31st.2012)and this study is to make an analysis of the gestational age of twin pregnancy, thecommon complications,The rate of cesarean section and the perinatal follow-up. Atthe same time, this study would make a comparison between the98cases of twinpregnancy with the98cases of each single pregnancy that following closely. Thecontrol group can be used to compare the common complications of the pregnantwomen such as premature rupture of membranes, hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, postpartum bleeding, pregnant women with anemia and the babies’ ordinarycircumstances like birth weight, neonatal asphyxia and perinatal death.[Results]In the observation group, the cesarean section rate is94.90%; while in thecontrol group, the cesarean section rate is53.06%, there would be statisticalsignificance in the comparison groups of cesarean section(χ2=44.55,P<0.01).In the observation group, the indications for cesarean section is the highest at49.46%, premature rupture of membranes which is followed accounts for12.90%;while in the control group, the indications for cesarean section is common by theaccount of25%, dystopia (including arrested labor, malpresentation, relativecephalopelvic disproportion, est.) which is followed accounts for15.38%at thesecond place.Compared with singleton pregnancy, the comparisons of the two groups ofpreterm birth and fetal growth restriction among the complications of twin pregnancyare statistically significant(P<0.01), the occurrence of hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, pregnant women with anemia, postpartum hemorrhage, complications ofpolyhydramnios are significantly increased, the comparison of the two groups werestatistically significant (P <0.05).With the increasing of gestational age, the neonatal weight is thereuponincreased and the incidences of neonatal asphyxia are thereupon decreased, thecomparison of the weight of the two groups are statistically significant (P <0.05).[Conclusion]The cesarean section rate of twin pregnancy is significantly higher than singletonpregnancy. The incidence of preterm birth is primacy in the complications of twinpregnancy, besides that, hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, pregnancy withanemia, postpartum hemorrhage, polyhydramnios and fetal growth restriction aresignificantly higher incidences of the complications of twin pregnancy. For that, prenatal care of twin pregnancy should be strengthened, daily bed rest time should beincreased and the amount of activities should be reduced after24weeks of gestation. What’s more, preterm birth and complications of twin pregnancy should be prevented;gestational age should be prolonged as long as possible; iron supplements, folic acid, calcium and nutritious things like that should be supplied more during pregnancy. Itshould be pay attention to the important measures of improving twin pregnancymother-and-baby’s prognoses by strengthening management of maternal system, dulydetecting twin pregnancies, strengthening pregnancy care, detecting and treatingpregnancy complications at an early stage, increasing gestational age, properlychoosing the timing and means of delivery.
