Objective Study the curative effects of esophageal variceal bleeding therapy withinterventional endoscopy and surgical operation.Materials and Methods150cases with esophageal varices bleeding are divided into twogroups:86cases with interventional endoscopy treatment (endoscopy group, EG),64caseswith surgical operation treatment (surgery group, SG). According to Child-Pughclassification, compare two groups about the rate of early rebleeding rate, delayed rebleedingrate, the mortality rate and average hospitalization costs, per capita total hospital costs. Results At the level of Child-Pugh A, the delayed rebleeding rate of EG is significantlyhigher than that of SG (38.1%vs5.9%, P=0.001), no significant difference about earlyrebleeding rate and mortality between two groups(21.4%vs5.9%, P=0.055;14.3%vs2.9%,P=0.089). At the level of Child-Pugh B: the early rebleeding rate and delayed rebleeding rateare significantly higher in EG than that in SG (40.9%vs6.7%, P=0.001;50%vs20%,P=0.009). No significant difference about mortality between two groups(22.7%vs6.7%,P=0.066). EG: average hospitalization expenses is33400.68yuan.27cases of repeatedhemorrhage hospitalized several times. The average per capita total hospitalization cost is73294.4yuan. The average interval is102.4days from initial treatment to second rebleeding inEG. SG: Average hospitalization expenses is44645.2yuan.6cases were hospitalized due topostoperative bleeding, The interval is216.42days. The average number of hospitalization is1.12. per capita inpatient total cost is48145.2yuan.Conclusion1. Endoscopic treatment group initial treatment from the re-bleeding time issignificantly shorter than the surgical treatment group;2. The average number of hospitalizations for endoscopic treatment group increased significantly compared with thesurgical treatment group;3.Endoscopic treatment group were hospitalized less expensive thansurgical treatment group, but endoscopic treatment group, there are severe secondary bleedingproblems repeatedly hospitalized total hospital costs per capita, it is the endoscopic treatmentgroup compared with the surgical treatment group.
