Objective To discuss the distribution of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndrome differentiation of the patients who were diagnosed by lung cancer with osseous metastasis, through a retrospective clinical data analysis. Methods Collect cases who were in oncology department of Zhejiang Province Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital from September1,2011to August31,2012, consult the material which were selected and record the detail of the osseous metastasis situation and TCM syndrome differentiation. Then establish database and make statisties analysis by the statistical software SPSS17.0.Results According to inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria,242cases are selected, in which117cases with osseous metastasis, and125cases without osseous metastasis, the incidence are respectively48.35%and51.65%. The most probability of bone metastases is adenocarcinoma(56.9%), followed by squamous carcinoma(38.3%), small cell carcinoma(36.1%), and other type(33.3%). The occurrence of osseous metastasis and the difference of histological classification has statistical significance (P<0.05). There are181osseous lesions in117cases of lung cancer with osseous metastases, which lied in thorax bone and vertebra are more common, whose incidence are both28.73%, fourthly acral bone is18.78%, pelvis is16.57%, and skull is7.18%. The number of osseous metastases in multiple transfer (2-5) is the most,43.59%, followed by multiple (>5),36.75%, and19.66%with one site. The most probability of bone metastases is Lung-Spleen qi deficiency syndrome(57.1%), followed by phlegm turbid obstructing lung syndrome(56.5%), yin deficiency causing internal heat syndrome(32.5%), and qi and yin deficiency (31.0%). The occurrence of osseous metastasis and the difference of TCM syndrome differentiation has statistical significance (P<0.05). There isn’t obvious correlation between the TCM syndrome differentiation and the histological classification (P>0.05). The TCM syndrome differentiation and the location of osseous metastasis of pulmonary carcinoma was not statistically significant, either the number of osseous metastasis(P>0.05).Conclusion There lies certain relationship between TCM syndromes differentiation and the occurrence of osseous metastasis of lung cancer, which Lung-Spleen qi deficiency syndrome and phlegm turbid obstructing lung syndrome are liable to occur osseous metastasis. There also lies certain relationship between histological classification and the occurrence of osseous metastasis of lung cancer, which adenocarcinoma is liable to occur osseous metastasis, followed by squamous carcinoma. There isn’t obvious correlation between the TCM syndrome differentiation and the histological classification. There isn’t significant correlation between the TCM syndrome differentiation and the location of osseous metastasis of lung cancer. There isn’t significant correlation between the TCM syndrome differentiation and the number of osseous metastasis of lung cancer.
