Subjective And Objective Assessment And Analysis Of The Nasal Septum Surgery

Objective：1To explore the correlation of subjective and objective assessment fornasal septum deviation.2.To.explore whether the surgery of inferior nasalconcha.should be accompanied with the surgery for nasal septal deviation.Methods:46patients with nasal septal deviation were randomly recruited inOtorhinolaryngology of the first hospital of Dalian Medical University in May toDecember of2011., including34males and12females as the research object, Weassess them before and4-6weeks after the surgery. Visual analogue scale (VAS),nasal endoscopy,,acoustic rhinometry and rhinomanometry are taken to record withnasal minimum cross-sectional area (NMCA), nasal cavity volume (NCV), nasal airwayresistance (NAR) and other datas, and apply the paired t-test statistics on whether thecorrelation between subjective and objective indicators to obtain the conclusion.Results:1.VAS test results：The preoperative data is VAS7.5000±1.9365and thepostoperative data is VAS1.3913±1.3396.△VAS is-6.109. Analyzed with Spssl3.0，significant difference is shown between the data preoperative and postoperative(p<0．05)。2.NMCA test results：The preoperative data is NMCA0.619±0.214cm2，and the postoperative data is NMCA0.615±0.119cm2. There is no significant differencebetween them.(p＞0.05)。3.NCV test results：The preoperative data is NCV9.934±6.002ml， and the postoperative data is NCV:12.100±5.039ml.△NCV is2.166ml.Significant difference is shown between the data preoperative and postoperative(p<0.05)。4.NR test results：The preoperative data is NR:9.281±12.969kpaS/L，and thepostoperative data is NR:1.442±1.024kpaS/L.△NR is-7.838kpaS/L. Significantdifference is shown between the data preoperative and postoperative (p<0．05).5. Nasalendoscopy test results：The preoperative data is1.261±2.632，and the postoperative datais1.304±2.363. There is no significant difference between them.(p>0.05).6.,There is no correlation between VAS,NMCA,NCV and NR statistically.7.There is no significantWhether the inferior turbinate surgery be taken..Conclusion：1. The assessment of surgery for nasal septum should be comprehensive judgment bythe subjective and objective aspects. but there is no correlation between them.2. There is no correlation between NMCA,NCV and NR statistically slao.3. We should try to retain the inferior turbinate in order to play on the outside airheating, humidification functions. in patients with turbinate hypertrophy.
