ObjectiveExploring the clinical curative effect of nasal obstruction caused by nasalstructural abnormalities under the treatment of nasal endoscopy nasal cavityexpansion, analysing the relationship between subjective index visual analog scale(VAS) of nasal obstruction symptomand objective index nasal minimumcross-sectional area(NMCA), nasal cavity volume(NCV), the total volume(VT) wereincreased, nasal airway resistance(NAR), and the relationship between objectiveindex.MethodsBetween July2012and December2013, observe the surgical curative effect of90patients of nasal cavity expansion, causing congestion to my clinics, that sinus CTscans(coronary)showed no sinusitis and nasal polyps and nasal sinus space-occupyinglesions, but prompting obvious nasal structural abnormalities. Preoperative routineanterior rhinoscope, nasal endoscopic examination and sinus CT scanning(cronal+axis+sagittal view), for the patients of having sinus CT of coronal scanningonly perfect axial and sagittal position, so to see patients with nasal anatomy variation situation, and further eliminate sinusitis and nasal polyps and nasal sinusspace-occupying lesions, etc. Meanwhile through VAS and nasal functional diagnosissystem to assess subjective and objective assessment of nasal obstruction symptomsin patients, to record VAS, NMCA, NCV, NAR and VT. According to the specificpatient, Personalized nasal endoscopic expansion was implemented. With generalanesthesia, nasal endoscopy was guided in STROZ0°,30°,70°and a complete set ofvideo display system to complete the operation. In1~2months postoperatively, toassess subjective and objective assessment of nasal obstruction symptoms inpatientsagain, to analyse the results between preoperative and postoperative and thecorrelation between subjective and objective evaluation index through the statisticalanalysis and the relationship between subjective index visual analog scale (VAS) ofnasal obstruction symptomand objective index nasal minimum cross-sectionalarea(NMCA), nasal cavity volume(NCV), the total volume(VT) were increased, nasalairway resistance(NAR), and the relationship between objective index.Results1、90cases of postoperative review under nasal endoscope, followed up for3~6months,72cases were markedly effective,16cases were effective,2cases had noeffect, the effective rate was97.8%, no postoperative complication such as headache, nasal dry, etc.2、NAR and VAS of patients with postoperative were reduced. NMCA,NCV and VT of patients with postoperative were increased, the differences betweenpreoperative and postoperative were statistically significant(P <0.05), table1. It isshowed that the nasal cavity expansion technique to patients with nasal congestionhas been improved, nasal minimum cross-sectional area(NMCA), nasal cavityvolume(NCV), the total volume(VT) were increased, nasal airway resistance (NAR)was reduced, nasal ventilation situation was improved.3、There is no statisticallysignificant correlation(P>0.05) between subjective evaluation index of VAS andobjective evaluation index of NMCA, NCV, NAR and VT. table2. The objectiveevaluation index of NMCA, NCV, NAR and VT was no statistically significantcorrelation(P>0.05), table2. Conclusions1The clinical curative effect of nasal endoscopy nasal cavity expansion for thetreatment of nasal obstruction caused by nasal structural abnormalities is effective, worthy of clinical application.2The surgical curative effect of nasal obstruction in patients should beevaluated through subjective and objective index, but there is no significantcorrelation between subjective index of VAS and objective evaluation index ofNMCA, NCV, NAR and VT.3The objective evaluation index of NMCA, NCV, NAR and VT of acousticrhinometry, nasal resistance and nasal breathing quantity has no significantcorrelation.
