| Objective: The aim of the study is evaluate the relationship of blood glucosefluctuation coefficient using Guardian RT continuous glucose monitoring system andcarotid plaque lesions in patients with type2diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods:110patients aged40to60year, duration of0.6years to5years with T2DM who are worn byRT-CGMS and examined by Neck vascular ultrasound were selected in Department ofEndocrinology Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from November2011to December2012, and divided into two groups by blood glucose fluctuationcoefficient: coefficient of≤1.5and>1.5. All of them underwent Guardian RT continuousglucose monitoring system, analyzed the relation of blood glucose with Venous bloodglucose and Fingertip blood glucose by Clarke error grid map, and the relation of theincidence and severity of carotid artery plaque between the two groups. Results:1.Correlation coefficient of the RT-CGMS and fingertip blood glucose (>11.1,7.8to11.1,6.0to7.8,3.9to6.0,<3.9) is0.97,0.95,0.94,0.89sand0.85(All P<0.05), and that of theRT-CGMS and Venous blood is0.99,0.97,0.95,0.94and0.87(all P<0.05).2. The ClarkeError table shows venous and fingertip blood were95%and99%in Zone A and Zone B.3.There are significant differences between the MAGE (days average blood glucosefluctuations), SDBG (24h blood glucose standard deviation), L-AGE (the largest bloodsugar fluctuations), M-PPGE (average postprandial blood glucose fluctuations) and theblood glucose fluctuation is closely related seperatedly (P <0.01).4. The logisticregression analysis showed that blood glucose fluctuation coefficient and triglyceridesinfluencing are the risk-factors of carotid plaque.5.The incidence of carotid is different inthe different blood glucose fluctuation coefficient(2=7.79, P=0.005), and there aresignificant differences in the extent of the lesion(Z=-2.144, P=0.032). Conclusion: Theimmediate significant glucose meter measured blood glucose is accurate and reliable. Triglycerides and blood glucose fluctuation coefficient are related with the carotid plaquedevelopment closely, and strict control of blood sugar, reduce blood sugar fluctuations candeduce the incidence of carotid artery plaque. Blood glucose fluctuation coefficient canshow the level of blood sugar fluctuations replacing the traditional blood glucosefluctuations in value directly. |
