| BackgroundParkinson’s disease(PD) is a degenerative diseases of the nervous system which is common in middle or older people,the clinical symptoms is mainly tremor in rest,muscle rigidity,bradykinesia,abnormal gait and posture. The ancient literatures did not point out the name of PD, but it could be classified to the shaking syndrome, convulsion,liver wind,and so on. It is generally believed that the disease located in the brain, the pathogenesis is insufficiency of vital energy and blood and cyin-deficiency of liver and kidney, and excess in the wind, fire, phlegm, blood stasis. With the development of the social, its high incidence and morbidity harmed the human health seriously. The treatment of PD is very difficult. The PD patients need treatment in their whole life, which brings about enormous loss of social and economy.Western medicine treatment can improve the symptoms, but it can not be cured.disadvantage of western medicine treatment is the single therapeutic approach, the limitations of a therapeutic effect, strong dependence and side effects. Chinese medicine treatment of the disease has made a good effect. Chinese medicine treatment also has some disadvantages. My mentor, Chen Feng, summed up "the Seven Acupoints of the Cranial Base"(SACB) in the long-term clinical practice in the treatment of parkinson’s disease. This treatment method is simple and effective. On the other hand, acupuncting SACB combined with medicine Madopar has good efficacy ahd avoids the drawbacks of oral medicine.ObjectivesThe aim of the study was to observe the recent and forward clinical curative effect and safety of acupuncting SACB combined with medicine Madopar to PD.MethodsWe ProsPectively studied72selected patients with PD, who was treated by SACB combined with medicine Madopar in Test group and regular west medicine Madopar in Control group. Carry out the acupuncture one time every other day. Regard12times as a treatment course and3courses as an observed period. One month after the end of the treatment, do a follow-up to every patient.Results1Baseline comparison in the two groups Patients demographic characteristics such as age, gender, clinical course, modified Webster Scale(mWS) in the distribution of differences between groups have no statistical significance (P>0.05). Two groups are comparable.2The comparison of clinical curative effect in the two groups before and after treatmentOverall scores of the two group patients before and after improvement the difference were statistically significant (P<0.001). scores improved of the test group was better than control group (P=0.006).The total effective rate of the test group is83.30%, the total effective rate of the test group is70.00%, test group patients with the he total effective rate higher than that in control group, the difference was statistically significant (P=0.033). Acupuncture combined with Madopar and simply taking Madopar both are effective methods for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. But acupuncture combined with Madopar treatment of parkinson’s disease has better efficacy.3The comparison of each symptom score in the two groups after treatmentEach symptom score of the two group patients before and after improvement the difference were statistically significant (P<0.05).In the symptoms of the tetanic, tremors,self-care symptom score improve of the experimental group is better than that of control group (P<0.01). Test group and the control group, all symptoms were improved in the test group and the control group.The test group improved has better efficacy in the symptoms of the tetanic, tremors,self-care.4The comparison of overall score in the two groups after treatmentThe first return visit, the overall score improved of the test group was better than control group, improvement differences in the two groups was not statistically significant (P=0.06) The second return visit, the overall score improved of the test group were better than control group, improvement differences in the two groups were statistically significant (P=0.003) The third return visit, the overall score improved of the test group were better than control group, improvement differences in the two groups were statistically significant (P=0.006) The efficacy of the test group is more better and stable than the control group.5The comparison of curative effect in the two groups’follow-upThe overall score of the two groups patients before and after improvement the difference were statistically significant (P<0.01). the overall score improved of the test group was better than control group(P=0.001). The test and control groups have some long-term effect, but the long-term efficacy of the test group is better than the control group.6The safety comparison of the two groups before and after treatmentNo serious adverse reaction was found in the two groups.ConclusionsAcupuncting SACB combined with medicine Madopar has good curative effect, high total effective rate, and is better to improve the symptoms of the nape of thtetanic, tremors,self-care. The effect will be more durable and stable. This treatment also is safe. |
