The Contrast Of Olanzapine And Aripiprazole For The Treatment Of First-episode Schizophrenia

[Objective] Compare aripiprazole and olanzapine for the treatment of first-episode schizophrenia on curative effect,safety,cognitive function,economic burden, social function and life quality.[Methods]:40patients with first-episode schizophrenia were randomly divided into the aripiprazole group20cases and olanzapine group20cases. Dose aripiprazole or olanzapine treatment for180days.To assess the positive and negative symptoms scale (PANSS), personal and social function scale (PSP), SF-36health survey questionnaire (SF-36), cost-effectiveness evaluation and laboratory examination on the prior to the treatment,90days,180days.[Results]1. Efficacy:90days PANSS score in both groups_were significantly decreased (P<0.05), and180days from90days has no obvious difference (P>0.05), the PANSS score there was no significant difference between two groups (P>0.05).2. Cognitive function:(1) two groups of treatment in patients with cognitive function in90days grades (except for the emotion management, symbolic coding) were significantly increased (P<0.05), and180days from90days difference is not significant (P>0.05).(2) the comparison between two groups:speech learning ability of90days,180days to made aripiprazole groups improved significantly higher than the olanzapine group (P<0.05); space breadth aspect made aripiprazole groups in the treatment of90days anterograde scores and total score than before treatment significantly increased (P<0.05), and180days is90days treatment space breadth of anterograde scores and total score were no obvious difference (P>0.05), two groups were no statistics difference in comparison before and after the treatment (P>0.05).3. Safety:(1) aripiprazole groups before and after treatment, for weight, fasting blood glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides, there was no significant difference (P>0.05), olanzapine group therapy for90days for height, weight, fasting blood glucose, cholesterol and triglyceride significantly (P<0.05), and180days from90days has no obvious difference (P>0.05).(2)on90days,180days the aripiprazole group cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were lower than olanzapine group (P<0.05).(3) EPS has no difference between two groups (P>0.05).4. Economic burden:efficacy of olanzapine group received units need256.77yuan,and.aripiprazole groups need206.12yuan, with statistical significance between two groups (P<0.05).5. The social function and quality of life aspects:(1), two groups of patients with90days and180days PSP total score were significantly improved (P<0.05), no significant difference between two groups (P>0.05).(2), two groups of patients with90days,180days of SF-36all aspects are improved, the difference has statistical significance(P<0.05),No significant difference between two groups (P>0.05). Social function of patients no obviously improved between two groups (P>0.05).[Conclusions] aripiprazole higher than olanzapine group on improvements memory, but lower on metabolic effects than olanzapine, and lower in price.
