Objective: To observe the abnormal glucose metabolism in acute coronary syndrome(ACS) inpatient without detected diabetes mellitus of Xinjiang Han, Uygur andKazak.Methods:581ACS cases without diabetes mellituswere adopted From September2009to September2012three ethnic inpatients. The patients underwent an oral glucosetolerance test (OGTT) to determine the glucose metabolism,if they could not be clearlydiagnosed diabetes by Fasting plasma glucose and postprandial blood glucose. Results:428cases (73.7%) had abnormal glucose metabolism, including245patients (42.2%) withdiabetes mellitus and183cases (31.5%) with abnormal glucose regulation;337Han cases,146cases (42.4%) with diabetes mellitus in patients with ACS, and114cases (33.8%)glucose regulation abnormalities,219Uygurs cases,96cases (43.8%) with diabetesmellitus,65cases (29.7%) with abnormal glucose regulation and25Kazakh cases,3cases(12.0%) with diabetes mellitus and4cases (16.0%) with abnormal glucose regulation;Kazak diabetes and impaired glucose regulation were lower than Han and Uygur (P<0.05),Han patients were equal to Uygur (P>0.05).Unless OGTT, relying on fasting glucose, abnormal glucose metabolism in patients not previously diagnosed, there will be38.0%patients missed diabetes mellitus,35.5%patients missed impaired glucose regulation, therewas no significant change in3months. Conclusion: The prevalence of abnormal glucosemetabolism in Xinjiang Han, Uygur, Kazak ACS patients without detected diabetesmellitus were73.7%and higher than other regions and European; but Kazakh patientswere lower. Only relying on fasting blood glucose and postprandial blood glucose willmiss a considerable number of ACS patients with abnormal glucose metabolism,so OGTTscreening should be routinely recommended in ACS patients of undiagnosed previouslydiabetes mellitus, the follow-up in3months was no significant difference than4days afteradmission。...
