The age of onset was39.05±18.067years old. In males, age at onset showed a single peak at between31and40years of age. In females, it showed a peak at21~30years and then a second one at41~50years. The duration of disease ranged from3days to23years.The study found6kinds of symptoms at onset. The rate of unilateral ptosis, bilateral ptosis, dysphagia or hoarseness, shrug weakness and limb weakness was32.5%,30.2%,6.5%,13.6%,1.2%,16.0%respectively.In the symptom pattern among all169cases,10.1%were juvenile type and the rateof adult Osserman typeⅠ,ⅡA,ⅡB,Ⅲ,Ⅳ was36.1%,13%,33.1%,3.6%,4.1%respectively.The neostigmine tests of all169cases were positive.Repetitive nerve stimulation results were abnormal in64out of84cases.One hundred and fifty-seven cases were performed examination by use of CT orMRI. Eighty cases were found thymus abnormalities, mainly including thymoma, thymic hyperplasia and incomplete thymic involution and39cases underwentthymectomy.Thyroid hormones or antibodies were abnormal in55cases out of121cases.Thirty cases experienced myasthenia crisis. The prognosis of patients with juvenile MG and adult ocular type MG, was better than those with adult general type MG.Conclusion: Clinical manifestations of myasthenia gravis are different andsometimes myasthenia gravis is misdiagnosed. Myasthenia gravis is associated withthyroid and thymus abnormalities. We should show more attention to the clinicaldiagnosis in order to find better therapeutic strategies.
