Objectives:We detected the expression of IL-18and PDCD-5in serum and villus tissue of patients with missed abortion and analyzed the relationship between IL-18and PDCD-5, which could be benefit to elucidating of the mechanism of missed abortion.Methods:Enzyme-linked immunosorbent was used to detect the level of IL-18and PDCD-5in serum from30cases of missed abortion and30normal pregnant women and immunohistochemistry was used to determine the expression of them in villus tissue. All the patients were diagnosed according to the criteria of obstetrics and gynecology. There were no significant difference in the age, gestational weeks, parity and gravid in the two group without complication of internal medicine and other complications of pregnancy.Results:1. Result showed that the expression level of IL-18and PDCD-5in the serum of patients with missed abortion were significantly higher than the control group (P<0.01).2. The expression of IL-18protein was mainly observed in the endochylema of placental villous syncytiotrophoblasts and cytotrophoblast and rare in cytoplasm of interstitial cells and vascular endothelial cells and occasionally in nucelus. The expression level of IL-18in the villus tissue of patients with missed abortion was significantly higher than the control group (P<0.01).3. The expression of PDCD-5protein was mainly observed in the nucleus and endochylema of placental villous syncytiotrophoblasts and cytotrophoblast and rare in cell membrane. The expression level of PDCD-5in the villus tissue of patients with missed abortion was significantly higher than the control group (P<0.01).4. Correlation analysis showed that the expression level of IL-18and PDCD-5in the villus tissue and serum of patients with missed abortion had a positive correlation. Conclusions:1. Comparing with normal early pregnancy group, the expression level of IL-18in the serum and villus tissue of patients with missed abortion group was obviously higher than the control group. It indicated that abnormal expression of IL-18has important significance in occurrence and development of missed abortion.2. The expression of PDCD-5in the villus tissue and serum of patients with missed abortion group was obviously higher than the control group and the expression of PDCD-5in syncytiotrophoblasts was obviously higher excessive apoptosis, which indicated that abnormal expression of PDCD-5played a I important role in the occur-ence of missed abortion.3. The expression of IL-18and PDCD-5in the villus tissue and serum of patients with missed abortion had a positive correlation respectively. It indicated that they would affect each other in the occurrence and development of missed abortion and missed abortion could be the result in multiple factors affect together.
