BackgroundIn our country, oral and maxillofacial malignant tumor is8.2%of the whole bodymalignant tumor, Tongue squamous cell carcinoma(TSCC) brought the highestincidence of oral and maxillofacial malignant tumor, tongue cancer easily transfer toall areas of the body. The understanding of the occurrence and development of themolecular mechanism in tongue squamous cell carcinomas is still very limited, theoverall treatment effect is still poor. Thus,it is very important to search noveltreatment method, research the factors that is closely related to squamous cellcarcinoma of the tongue and improve Significantly the overall treatment effect.ObjectiveBy detecting expression of TIP30proteins and OPN proteins in TSCC, to analysethe TIP30protein correlated with pathologic stage, lymph node metastasis, clinicalstage and the OPN protein. TIP30was revealed in the role of TSCC and its clinicalapplication value.MethodsThe expression levels and their correlation of TIP30and OPN were analyzedimmunohistochemical method in70surgical operated specimens and adjacentrelatively normal tissues, and the corelation analysis with clinical feature of patientswas analyzed. All data are conducted by using SPSS17.0, Chi-squared statistic wasused to analyze statistical significance. Differences were considered statisticallysignificant at p<0.05. Spearman correlation was adopted to analyze the degree andcorrelation between the expression of TIP30and OPN.Results1. The percentage of TIP30positively expression was45.7%in TSCC tissues and80.0%in the adjacent relatively normal tissues, statistical difference was foundbetween them(P<0.05).2. The percentage of OPN positively expression was75.7%in TSCC tissues and27.1%in the adjacent relatively normal tissues, statistical difference was found between them(P<0.05).3. The expression of TIP30and was correlated to tumor pathological grades, clinicalstages, lymphatic metastasis(P<0.05), and had no correlation with sex, age,(P>0.05).4. In TSCC group, there was negative correlation between the expression of TIP30and OPN(r=-0.483,P<0.05).Conclusion1. The expression of TIP30in TSCCs was down-regulated,the expression of TIP30was correlated to tumor pathological grades, clinical stages, lymphaticmetastasis(P<0.05), and had no correlation with sex, age,(P>0.05).Thus, Absenceor decline of the expression in TIP30may was correlated to the occurrence, development and of tumor.2. The expression of OPN in TSCCs was up-regulated.,the expression of OPN wascorrelated to tumor pathological grades, clinical stages, lymphatic metastasis(P<0.05), and had no correlation with sex, age,(P>0.05).Thus, increase of theexpression in OPN may was correlated to the occurrence, development and oftumor.3. In TSCC group, there was negative correlation between the expression of TIP30and OPN, both of which can judge the clinical staging and evaluate prognosis ofthe TSCC.
