Experimental Study Of Relationship Between The Rat Serum Testosterone Levels And Erectile Function

To explpore the effects of different lever androgen supplementation onerectile function,the NOS express in corpus cavernosum,PRL in castrated rats.Methods60Sprague-Dawley male rats randomly divided into6groups(10for eachgroup).normal control(NC) group underwent sham operatin,1-5group werecastrated. After1week,group1,2,3and4were treated with40mg/ml,20mg/ml,10mg/ml,5mg/ml testosterone each day respectively. After8weeks of treatment, the rats were given apomorphine(APO) subcutaneously toinduce penial erection and test testosterone,PRL,nNOS,eNOS in each group.ResultsThe erectile rate and erectile number in the rats of group NC， group1，group2，group3were significantly higher than those in group4and group5(p<0.05).the express of nNOS in group5were lower than those in groupNC.Then group NC，group1，group2were no significant difference.eNOSexpress were no significant differences between each groups. Compared withgroup NC,group5of prolactin increased significantly.As exogenoussupplement testosterone after recover to normal.There was No statisticaldifference between the group NC,group1and group2.Conclusion1、Erectile function maintain needs certain serum androgen level (1-2.4ng/ml).When the serum testosterone below that level, erectile function and serum androgen level was positively related.2、Androgen is maintaining the role of rat serum prolactin, one of the possible isby influencing the dopamine pathways. Lactation as possible is one of thechannels of androgen regulates erectile function.3、The expression of eNOS is androgen independent, prompt androgens maybe through regulating nNOS regulating penile relaxation of smooth muscle.
