Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of U100laser(the frequency-doubleddouble-pulse neodynium:YAG laser) and holmium:YAG laser for ureteral stones. Methods:From Feb.2003to Dec.2011,1133patients in our hospital underwent endoscopiclithotripsy either with the U100laser lithotripter (665cases) or with holmium:YAGlaser lithotripter (468cases) for the treatment of ureteral stones. Patients wereanalyzed for operation time, stone-free rate, stone up-migration, intraoperativecomplications.Result:respectively, for U100and holmium:YAG laser groups, overall successful rate ofstone fragmentation was91.4%and91.7%(P=0.804), Stone up-migration was4.66%and6.41%(P=0.199). Mucosal perforation/disruption rates was2.25%å'Œ2.99%(P=0.440). ureterostenosis rates was0.15%and2.14%(P=0.002). therewas no significant difference in mean stone fragmentation time(P=0.205).Conclusion:U100laser has an advantage in reduced ureterostenosis than holmium:YAGlaser. Both are equally efficient in stone up-migration,operation time, stone-free rateand intraoperative complications. |
