Objective:To evaluate the success factors of ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy of ureteral calculi, and summarize the clinical features of the development of postoperative complications. Methods:Retrospective analysis of Urology, First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, from March 2005 to March 2008 with ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy for treatment of clinical data of 186 cases of ureteral calculi, using logistic regression analysis the factors that may affect the success or failure of the operation, such as different surgeon, gender, age, anesthesia, stone size, stone location, stone number, stone area with polyps, stones distal with ureteral stenosis and (or) distortion, ipsilateral hydronephrosis, preoperative treatment of conditions, and summarize the clinical features of the development of postoperative complications.Results:(1) The group of 186 cases,168 cases of surgical success (90.3%). (2) The location of the stone affect the success of surgery (P= 0.007, significant difference), stone in the lower location have a higher success rate than in the upper ureter. Stone distal ureteral stenosis and (or) distortion impact on the success of surgery (P= 0.001, significant difference), stones associated with distal ureteral stenosis and (or) distortion will reduce the success rate. OR value by comparing known:stone combined with the distal ureter stenosis and (or) distortion have more impact on the success or failure of surgery, followed by the location of stones. (3) those of different surgical procedures, sex, age, anesthetic, stone size, stone number, stone area with polyps, hydronephrosis, preoperative treatment conditions and, the test results P> 0.05, still can not say that these factors on the operation statistically significant impact the success or failure. (4)Postoperative hematuria 39 cases (21%),2 days stop over on their own, without serious hematuria and blood transfusion cases; 13 cases of low back pain (7%), including 10 cases of mild pain,3 cases of heavy pain,no cases of renal colic were 1-3 day after mitigation;fever 33cases(17.7%),including 4 cases of high fever (39.1℃~40.4℃).3 patients'temperature dropped to normal within 3 days after active treatment, and 1 patient's temperature dropped to normal after 9 days; amony the successful cases of ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy,14 cases (8.3%) residual stones after 1 week.Conclusions:(1) stone location, stone with distal ureteral stenosis and (or) distortion affect the success or failure of surgery, different senior professional titles MD, gender, age, anesthesia, stone size, stone number, stone area with polyps, hydronephrosis, preoperative treatment situation had no effect to the success or failure of surgery; (2) Holmium laser lithotripsy of postoperative complications mainly hematuria, pain, fever, mild symptoms; (3) successful ureter holmium laser lithotripsy for ureteral stone patients with a high success rate (91.7%)...
