Objective:To observe the clinical effect in the treatment of Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease(GERD)(Piwei Xuhan syndrome) by Wentong Hewei decotion, and to explore the mechanism from two aspects of theory and clinical research.Method:Selected60cases patient with GERD(Piwei Xuhan syndrome),all in May2012-March2013in Nanjing Hospital of TCM.The patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group according to the order,each group of30cases.The treatment group to Wentong Hewei decotion and Omeprazole, the control group to Omeprazole and Mosapride. During the treatment, two groups were not taking other drugs and treatment methods associated with the disease, after eight weeks, compared the clinical symptoms before and after the treatment of two groups.Results:In treatment group4cases were cured,13cases were significant effect,12cases were effect,1case were no effect while in control group1case were cured,8cases were significant effect,17cases were effect,4case were no effect, the efficiency was96.67%in treatment group while86.67%in control group, the effciency of two groups had significant difference by statistics processing (P<0.05), which showed the treatment group had better curative effect than the control group,especially in these symptoms which are regurgitation, pharyngeal obstruction,tastelessness,pa-leng, lassitude and sloppy.Conclusion:The treatment of Wenyong Hewei decotion with proton pump inhibitor (PPI) had better curative effect than the treatment of Omeprazole combine with Mosapride in the treatment of GERD, especially the Pixu symptoms.It suggested that the Bian Zheng Lun Zhi of TCM is very important, as it has a significant effect and can be used for clinical reference.
