| With the development of industrial production, the health problems induced byenvironmental pollution have increased seriously year by year. And the impact on malereproductive problems is particularly prominent. Polychlorinated biphenyl (PCBs) is a widerange of environmental organic pollutants, which is not easily degradable, persistent in theenvironment, bio-accumulative, and potentially harmful to human reproductive health. This study through the questionnaire investigation in patients with infertility clinics anddetermination of the concentrations of the six indicative PCBs(PCB52ã€PCB101ã€PCB118ã€PCB138ã€PCB153ã€PCB180) in blood and semen samples. This study is to investigate therelationship between PCBs levels of blood/semen and male reproductive disorders and toestablish a simple and efficient method of PCB analysis. We also can provide data for therelevant epidemiological study and background evidence to pollution control of PCBs.This study established a human whole blood and semen ASE pre-treatment methods andGC-MS method for the detection of PCBs, the experimental results PCBs recoverieswere:53-83%; each monomer PCBs detection limit of0.24-1.15ng/g. This approach isconsistent with analysis of whole blood and semen samples of such needs. In this study, patients with infertility clinic collecting blood and semen, the concentrationof PCBs in samples analyzed. Found that the average concentration of the blood PCB52:4.47ng/g, PCB101:2.70ng/g, PCB118wasn’t detected, PCB138:8.14ng/g, PCB153:1.83ng/g,PCB180:10.24ng/g. Semen samples of PCB52concentration3.84ng/g, PCB101:2.52ng/g,PCB118:0.45ng/g, PCB138:4.42ng/g, PCB153:6.04ng/g, PCB180:6.86ng/g. The resultsshowed that infertile patient’s blood and semen PCBs concentrations much higher than normalaverage. We compared the blood/semen of infertile patients and normal concentration of PCBs,there is a higher concentrations of PCBs in infertile patients with blood and semen. Factorsthat affect the concentrations of PCBs are: professional, place of residence, BMI, age, etc.Engaged in the self-employed person PCBs in high concentration in blood and semen, and ITindustry concentration is low; Patients living in downtown had a higher PCBs concentrationthan who living in the suburbs; There is a lower concentrations of PCBs with People who hasa moderate BMI, underweight or overweight will lead to higher concentrations of PCBs; Thestudy also found that the experiment also found that older patients with lower blood/semenconcentrations of total PCBs.At present, the research on the relationship of the PCBs and male reproductive health is still in the exploratory stage. This experiment for the aspects of epidemiological studies andreproductive health problems caused by environmental hormone to provide data supporting. |
