| Mass customization (MC) has become a mainstream production model for the21stcentury,whose key is to identity and take advantage of the similarity existing in a number ofdifferent products. The aim of digging similarities in the product geometry, structure, functionand other aspects, making the use of methods such as standardized, modular and serializationto reduce internal diversification is to reduce product design repetition. In this paper, thedesign and development technology of mass customization are applied to prosthetic socketsdesign. By studying similarities and differences between different people’s lower limbs, theprosthetic sockets design based on modular are proposed. Meanwhile, the feature pointsrequired for modeling are obtained through analyzing the3D scan data. Thus the primarystructure and the master model of prosthetics’key module can be created on, then according tothe variant design and configuration design to realize prosthetic sockets digital design.The paper’s contents mainly contained are as follows:The first chapter mainly recommends the background, the concepts of human prostheticsockets, classifications and the research status. Meanwhile, this section introduces the sourceof the subject raised, the main research contents of papers and its framework.The second chapter presents prosthetic sockets digital design framework, and introducesthe main contents of the basic principles of mass customization, modular technology,configuration design, variant design and digital design technology.The third chapter introduces the methods of a variety of data collection and dataprocessing. This paper introduces the means of how to obtain feature points by whichintersecting a set of rays with triangle patches to establish key module master model.The fourth chapter analyzes the modular design, configuration design and variant designof the prosthetic sockets, mainly studies the module division of prosthetic sockets, andexplains the coupling between the modules through axiomatic design. The establishment ofkey modules master model and the main structure of the prosthetic sockets helps the study ofvariant design and configuration design. The fifth chapter shows the customize development for SolidWorks in the tool of Visualstudio2010(C++). The System includes three parts called sockets master model management,variant design and system management. |
