Aim:The aim of this study is to screen new drug which can synergy with antifungal drugs against fungus from the ethanol-extraction and the extractive matter of herbs.Methods:1. Get the crude extract of26kinds of herbs by refluxing extraction in70%ethanol.2. The antifungal activty and synergistic antifungal activity of the herbs with antifungal drugs against candida albicans (SC5314/103/100) was detected by the methods of Antifungal susceptibility testing and checkerboard microdilution assay. Sanguisorba offieinalis L. and Polygonum bistorta L. show a good synergistic antifungal effect with fluconazole(FCZ).3. The synergistic antifungal effect with other antifungal drugs agsinst Candida albicans and non-candida albicans was also been conducted.4. The active extracts of Sanguisorba offieinalis L. and Polygonum bistorta L. were obtained by solvent extraction and macroporous resin. Results:Through the study, we found that Sanguisorba offieinalis L. and Polygonum bistorta L. can inhibit the growth of Candida albicans obviously in conbination with antifungal drugs such as FCZ. The synergistic antifungal effect with FCZ also can be found against non-Candida albicans. The extracts from ethyl acetate and n-butyl alcohol contribute to the synergistic antifungal activity of Sanguisorba offieinalis L. and Polygonum bistorta L.. The extracts of30%ethanol、50%ethanol、70%ethanol isolated by macroporous resin showed good synergistic antifungal effect against Candida albicans, especially the extract of30%ethanol.Conclusions:Sanguisorba offieinalis L. and Polygonum bistorta L. showed good synergistic antifungal effect, and the synergistic antifungal activity are main contributed by the extracts of30%ethanol、50%ethano、70%ethanol isolated by macroporous resin, which maybe contain some high polar material.
