Objective: Proximal femoral fracture is a common clinical fractures, which is also one of the most challenging orthopedic, accounting for54.27%of the adult femur fractures. The fracture includes three parts: femoral neckfractures、intertrochanteric fractures、femoral head fractures. Most doctorsconcerned about the treatment, and its the epidemiological research canprovide some theoretical data for the prevention of fractures.Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau is the fourth largest plateau in China.Theepidemiological of adult proximal femur fractures of this area is not common. For this reason our research team choose the three capital cities of this areas(Kunming,Guiyang,Nanning) to investigate and analysis the data about adultproximal femoral fractures. Methods: We pited the three hospitals (The Military hospital ofKunming,Orthopaedic Hospital of Guiyang,The first affiliated hospital ofGuangXi medical university) using random sampling method. The date ofwith proximal femoral fractures between January2010and December2012were investigated. After excluding the review information, filtering out adultcases (≥16years),we counted the gender, age and other information. Weconducted fracture types as AO principle. To analysis the date constitution ofthese three hospitals using χ2test methed by SPSS19.0statistical software. IfP<0.05, we can considered that there was a statiscally significant differenceamong the three groups. For the groups of satisfying the condition, we madethe further comparison between each other and setα<0.0167. Quality controlwas needed during the investigation, training the staff, stressing thesignicance and importance of the survey, requiring seriously and carefully, proficiencing the elements and precautions of the survey forms. Twoprofessional doctors regularly checked the quality of these work. When the misjudgment rate for the fracture diagnosis was more than1%or the fractureclassification error rate was more than3%, the staff had to do the work againof the same part.Result: A total of1694adult proximal femoral fracture patients wereincluded. The cases of them are Kunming772,Nanning303,Guiyang619.Thegender composition of the patient in Guiyang was significantly different fromthe other two groups (P<0.001), more female(60.74%) than male(39.26%); Inthe age composition of the three groups, they were different from each other(P<0.001),among them, Kunming,16~30year-old age group had a significantlyhigher fracture proportion and both the groups of≥81and71~80year-old ofNanning had a high constituent ratio, which was different from theother two;in the fracture type composition, Kunming was different from theother two groups (P <0.001), the type A(49.94%) was slightly more than thetype B(48.00%).There were no difference between Nanning and Guiyang (P>0.05),both were type B was the most. Conclusion: The investigation has implied the epidemiological featuresof the adult proximal femoral fractures in the capital city of Yunnan-GuizhouPlateau.Women from Guiyang should pay more attention to preventfractuers, people aged16~30from Kuming need to improve safety awarenessand the olders living in Nanning need to enhance self-protection awareness.
