Objective:The effect of deep acupuncture for cervical spondylosis of cervical type was observed by standardized scales of neck pain in this randomized controlled trial, and get a scientific evaluation, A standardized clinical curative acupuncture treatment program were established and its effect was exact, a preferred acupuncture therapy for cervical spondylosis of cervical type was produced. Methods:The study was designed as a randomized controlled trial, In this study, a random number table was used by simple random method to generate the random data, A total of60patients with cervical spondylosis who meet the eligibility criteria from outpatient clinics of the Affiliated Rehabilitation Hospital, Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were recruited, they were randomized into treatment group (deep acupuncture group) or controlled group (ordinary acupuncture group) according to the random numbers. Each group is30cases, The participants undergoed treatment sessions with either deep or ordinary acupuncture intervention five times a week for2weeks. Evaluation by blinded assessors at baseline and at the end of intervention included demographic characteristics, validated questionnaires (Northwick Park Neck Pain Questionnaire (NPQ) scale, Short-Form36(SF-36) scale), examination of neck physiological function and muscle strength with the MCU, and adverse events. All included patients were followed up and investigated for relapse of neck pain at4,8, and12weeks after intervention. SPSS13.0software was applied for statistical treatment.Results:(1)There was no significant differences in baseline characteristics compared between the two groups.(2)Both interventions caused significant differences in NPQ, SF-36and Neck function and muscle strength compared after treatments with before, it showed their effects were accurate, the treatment time of treatment group was significantly shorter than the control,There was not significantly positive effect in NPQ,SF-36and Neck function, but muscle strength.(3)In treatment groups, the absolute value was lower, although there was no significant difference in the rate of recurrence between two groups.Conclusion:(1)Deep acupuncture is one of effective therapies for cervical spondylosis of cervical type, its clinical effectiveness is credible.(2)Effectiveness of deep acupuncture is more obvious compared with the normal, but it is necessary for its long-term efficacy to be further assessed (3)Deep acupuncture is safe and reliable, the rates of its side effects and adverse reaction do not increased.
