| Objective: To explore the clinical application effect for usingcustomized artificial nasal implant in correction of deviated nose deformity..Methods: From January2012to January2014, in department of Plasticand Cosmetic Surgery of the First Hospital of Jilin University,32patientsunderwent correction of deviated nasal deformity using alloplastic materialsimplant. The correction of deviated nasal deformity involved osteotomy ofnasal bone, lower lateral cartilage and upper lateral cartilage repositioning, septum cartilage harvest-grafting and correction, harvest-grafting conchalcartilage, and carve-designing silicone nasal implant based on defect of nasalshape of each case to achieve ideal aesthetic nasal shape. Results: For all of32cases, there was no complication, such asinfection or foreign body reaction postoperatively. Follow-up period was from6to18months. Nasal airway breathing was significant improved, meanwhile, achieved ideal symmetry nasal shape and good aesthetic nasal linepostoperatively. There was no recurrence of nasal deviation or nasal breathingobstacle. Conclusions: In correction of deviated nasal deformity, using customizedalloplastic materials can obviously improve the results postoperatively, andachieve better symmetry nasal shape with aesthetic nasal line. Meanwhile, using alloplastic materials could decrease demand of autologous tissue for grafting, and maximum reduce operative trauma and time-costing in order toreduce pain, complications, recovering and scar for patients postoperatively. |
