Purpose To explore the feasibility by using susceptibility-weightedimaging phase value and T2*value in quantitatively detecting ironabnormalities in Chronic hepatitis B,and analyze their relationship.Materials and Methods38patients diagnosed with Chronichepatitis B were chosen in this study,including20cases with cirrhosis and18cases with no cirrhosis, among them there were11cases with hepatocellularcarcinoma. There are30men and8women in this patients, with age range from23to65years old.All those patients underwent T1WI,T2WI and3echoT2*WI,SWI sequence scan using Siemens3.0T MRI.SWI phase values and T2*values of liver were measured after determining whether having sideroticnodules in the liver or not. SWI phase values and T2*values were comparedbetweent the group having siderotic nodules and the group having no sideroticnodules in each echo time, and then the correlation coefficient was determinedin this two values. Results Siderotic nodules were not found in the livers of10healthyparticipants in any imaging technique. In38cases with Chronic hepatitis B, siderotic nodules were found in28cases but the number of cases were differentby different imaging technique. In all this imaging techniques, SWI sequencehad the maximum number of cases (28cases,73.7%)in founding sideroticnodules, followed by T2*WI sequences (23cases,60.5%).The SWI phase valuesin28cases having siderotic nodules were:16.40±18.77(TE2.5ms),-15.92±39.95(TE5.0ms) and-83.59±83.73(TE10.0ms),T2*values were:13.14±5.17. The SWI phase values in10cases having no siderotic nodules withChronic hepatitis B were:51.34±12.01(TE2.5ms),52.88±22.96(TE5.0ms) and83.91±32.99(TE10.0ms), T2*values were:19.59±3.11. The SWI phase valuesin10cases healthy participants were:49.04±15.53(TE2.5ms),51.45±33.10(TE5.0ms) and76.16±37.10(TE10.0ms),T2*values were:21.14±2.92. The SWIphase values and T2*values had significant differences between the28caseshaving siderotic nodules and the10cases having no siderotic nodules withChronic hepatitis B (P=0.000).There were no significant differences between the10cases having no siderotic nodules with Chronic hepatitis B and the10caseshealthy participants(P>0.05). The correlation coefficient between SWI phasevalues and T2*values were0.387(2.5ms),0.427(5ms) and0.534(10ms)(P<0.05)in28cases having siderotic nodules. There were no significant correlationbetween SWI phase values and T2*values in the other two groups. Conclusion SWI phase values and MRI T2*values may indirectly assesshepatic iron deposition in patients with chronic hepatitis B. The correlationcoefficient between SWI phase values and T2*values are affected by the lengthof echo time.Choosing a relatively long echo time may lead to accurateassessment of liver iron deposition in patients with chronic hepatitis B...
