Objective: To investigate the change of plasma C-reaction protein (CRP)in patient with coronary heart disease (CHD) undergoing percutaneouscoronary intervention(PCI) and evaluate the effect on CRP of Chineseherbs. Methods: 33 patients undergoing PCI were randomly assigned to treatgroup(n=18) (Chinese herbs plus western medication) and control group(n=15) (western medication only). Western medication includedantiplatelet agent, LMWH, ACEI, ARBs,β-blockers and statin. The levelsof CRP and cTnI were measured before, immediately after and 15 days afterPCI respectively. T test was used to check the statistic differencesbetween two groups. Results: The serum levels of CRP in both groups rised immediately afterPCI, whereas the levels of cTnI droped remarkably. A fall in the levelsof CRP and cTnI was observed in both groups 15 days after PCI, comparedwith that before PCI, but no statistic difference was found between twogroups (P=0.389).Conclusion: The levels of CRP increased immediately after PCI inpatients with CHD, and significantly reduced after 15 days treatment, but Chinese herbs plus western medication showed no advantage on westernmedication only at a limitation of 15 days. |
