The Clinical And Experimental Study Of Gu Ben Ke Chuan Granules In Treating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

The clinical and experimental study had been made about Chronic ObstructivePulmonary Disease (COPD) treated by Gu Ben Ke Chuan granules in the subject.Objective To investigate the effect and the mechanism of Gu Ben Ke Chuangranules in the treatment of COPD by the clinical and experimental study.Methods COPD model was established in SD rats by sootiness and tracheainstillation of LPS. The rats were treated with Gu Ben Ke Chuan granules for 4 weeks,compared to the control group treated with Gu Ben Ke Chuan Pian. Pathologicalchanges were observed in lung tissues and its mechanism was studies by detectingphlogistic cells in bloods and BALF、T-lymphocyte subsets、Tumor necrosis factoralpha(TNF-α)、soluble interleukin-2 receptor(sIL-2R) and the indexes of thymus andspleen.We formulated cases selection and curative effects judgment standardsaccording to concerned standards. The 46 cases were randomly distributed into twogroups: the treatment group and the control group. We analyzed the clinical symptomsand pulmonary function.Result Total of White blood cell (WBC)、CDST-lymphocyte subsets、TNF-αandsIL-2R were significantly higher in COPD rats without any treatment and thosetreated with Gu Ben Ke Chuan granules or Gu Ben Ke Chuan Pian than in normalcontrol group.Furthermore, total of WBC and TNF-αwere significantly lower inCOPD rats treated with Gu Ben Ke Chuan granules or Gu Ben Ke Chuan Pian than inCOPD rats without any treatment. Pathological changes in lung tissues weresignificantly abated in COPD rats treated with Gu Ben Ke Chuan granules or Gu BenKe Chuan Pian. Clinical symptom and signs such as cough, expectoration, asthmawere improved greatly than those in control group. The CD8T-lymphocyte subsets、TNF-α、sIL-2R、and the indexes of spleen in treatment group were reducedsignigicantly. The indexes of thymus and CD4 T-lymphocyte subsets were elevatedgreatly. The clinical research results showed Gu Ben Ke Chuan granules couldobviously improve the clinical symptom of COPD and pulmonary function.,promote the quality of life.Conclusion Gu Ben Ke Chuan granules has a similar therapeutic effect to Gu BenKe Chuan granules Pian on COPD, the mechanism of Gu Ben Ke Chuan granules may be the suppression of inflammation on trachea, CD8 T-lymphocyte subsets、TNF-αand sIL-2R. The indexes of thymus and CD4 T-lymphocyte subsets wereelevated greatly. The clinical research results showed Gu Ben Ke Chuan granulescould obviously improve the clinical symptom of COPD and pulmonary function.,promote the quality of life.
