A Study On The Application Of Paper-Cut On Ceramic Decoration

Paper-cut on Ceramic Decoration originated in Song Dynasty. The creating and the spreading of folk paper-cut can always keep pace with the development of our times. The folk paper-cut in Yuxian county of Hebei province, commonly known as Yuxian window-flower, mainly consists of intaglio and color touches. Also, it is the typical representative of colorful paper-cut which has the full picture frame, joyful sense of beauty and rich charm. So there is great room for the application of Paper-Cut on Ceramic Decoration.Through exchanges of experience with related artists, the combination of research results by former artists, and the accumulation of concerned material objects, The thesis will take Yuxian paper-cut as example to explain the practical significance of paper-cut applied on ceramic decoration by making use of some theories to prove the feasibility and gaining expected effect of application of Yuxian paper-cut on ceramic decoration. Therefore, the feasibility and utility of charming Yuxian paper-cut can be completed displayed by taking advantage of modern technology and spirits of advancing with the times, which also inspires the innovation of other folk culture.
