During the Aesthetic Discussion of the fifties and sixties of the twentieth, Li Zehouintroduced the scope “practice” into the study of Aesthetics, and created the School of PracticalAesthetics. In the late seventies and eighties, Li Zehou built up the Subjective Practical AestheticSystem, putting forward a series of categories and concepts such as “Humanization of Nature”and “Accumulating”, which, has raised a second Aesthetic Discussion. While being a guest inthe United States, Li Zehou put forward the important propositions such as Historical Ontology,Noumenon of Emotion,Necromancer Tradition and the Confucian four said under the perticularera and the academic background to continue his exploration of Aesthetic in the nearly twodecades. Moreover, his thoughts has caused a great deal of changes and his focus has beentransformed, due to the influences of the theoretical roots, personal reasons as well as the bothinternal and external tension in the development of Aesthetic Thoughts.Depend on the analysis of Li Zehou’s earlyAaesthetic Thoughts, this article is focused onexploring the changes of his Aesthetic Thoughts during the nearly two decades and analysing thereasons of changing. At the same time, this article is to make comparations between Li Zehou,who is the representative in the group of overseas Chinese scholars who live and teach overseasafter becoming famous in China, and the other two scholars, who are the ancient literary scholarWang Wensheng and the Taiwan Neo-Confucianism Hsu Fu-kuan. Under this ComparativePerspective, it is to explore the value of his Aesthetic Thoughts, confirm his significantcontribution to the Chinese Aesthetics Construction and criticize the imitations and insufficiencyduring nearly two decades.
