As the Internet skill develops, web studying gradually becomes one of theimportant ways of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages. Now there aremany similar websites in China, but the interaction of Internet is not workingefficiently. Thus it’s hard to keep users, let alone teaching Chinese. This situationmakes it valuable to study how Chinese learning websites keep users. After literaturereviewing, I find out that there is still some gap in this area of study.Virtual community is one of the best methods of keeping users. After comparison,I choose ChinesePod website for studying, as it works well in virtual community.This paper focuses on the operation of its different boards, analyzing its contentthrough technology supporting, knowledge sharing and the sense of communitybelongs, which are the key elements of community "stickness".The survey finds thatCPod virtual community makes achievement in keeping community stickness byusing SNS skill, especially the knowledge stickness brought by knowledge sharing.On this basis, in order to study the real experience, this paper designs aquestionnaire for CPod community users. The study shows that CPod community users are normally well educated, the level of their Chinese language is betweenprimary and middle class. Meanwhile they are willing to ask and share. Thesecharacters decide there using purse, which focuses mainly on improving Chineselanguage, and making friends or studying Chinese culture through the community.CPod community offers such a chance. Thus, the users are willing to stay in thecommunity. Most of them stay more than half an hour each time,2-3times each week,and have using it over half a year.Last but not least, this paper provides some advice for optimizing virtualcommunity of Chinese learning websites, including enhancing the study of users,offering different service for various users; intensifying technology, making theinformation sharing and interaction easier; reinforcing the management of community,offering better users more comfortable.
