Refers to Bei Dao, first remembered by people is his classics poetry and his poet’s imageas a hero. However, few researchers have actually conducted his prose systematically. BeiDao’s prose writing begins in his drifting period in the foreign land. During this period, the poetchanged his protest posture to protest against the survival itself. When roams about no longer isthe verse, but becomes the habit of life, the writing of the poet changes with the change ofmood. This paper bases on his prose collections published by now. The first chapter discusseswhy the poet turned to write the prose under the vagrant environment as well as the thinkingbrought by this phenomenon; The second chapter embarks from the main content of his prose,sorting out the two major themes of his prose in the seemingly disordered narrative content:nostalgia for the old people and nostalgia for the old age; The third chapter analyzes theintertextuality of his prose and poetry from the image and the style; The fourth chapter puts hisprose in the oversea Chinese literature to analyze its Chinese experience and the presence of theprose.
