This thesis investigated the high school students of Chinese-Filipino in ImmaculateConception Academy School, which mainly using the form of questionnaire to know thestudents’ cognitional and identifiable situation to Chinese culture, thereby we can have arestricted view the whole Chinese-Filipino youth’s cognitive and identifiable situation to ethnicChinese culture in this new era. This paper investigated identifiable situation of the ethnicChinese culture mainly focus on the Chinese culture, investigating and studying from the chiefaspects: national identity, diet, language, religion faith, literature and art, the value idea, etc.According to the results of the investigation, cognition and identification of the nationalidentity, about80%of the students think they are Chinese people,52%of the students knowtheir ancestral home, and31%of the students think they are the Chinese-Philippine; Cognitionand identification of the language, about6%of the students speak Chinese at home,50%of thestudents think Chinese is important, and51%of the students hope that their children canproficiently speak Chinese; Cognition and identification of the life style and customs, about41%of the students all like Chinese food, Western food, Philippines special food, about8%of thestudents like Chinese Tang suit. All of them just know the most important traditional Chinesefestivals, and they have different cognition to the festivals. Cognition and identification of theReligious faith,81%of the students are Catholicism,44%of them will choose Chinese to marry;Cognition and identification of the literature and arts, and the value idea gets relatively high level,but also has some level as they rarely contact. This indicates that the high school students ofChinese-Filipino in the Immaculate Conception Academy School have been already Filipinized,they have been fully reintegrated into the local society, they more really look like the localPhilippines, such as language, eating habits, aesthetic vision, mode of thinking, individual ideaand so on. Nevertheless, most of the informants have the strong "Chinese consciousness”, whichhelp them have certain cognition of Chinese culture, just the cognitional degree is not so high.For a long time, Philippines’ local Chinese institutions, including Chinese schools, havegive a tireless efforts to protect and enhance the Philippines’ Chinese culture, and also get somegood effects. Facing the present situation of the high school students identify the ethnic-Chineseculture in the Immaculate Conception Academy School, the local Chinese school, the parents ofthe students and Chinese institutions should cooperate with each other, work together under thesituation of fully realize the children’s current consciousness, and then creating the opportunitiesof deeply understand Chinese culture as much as possible, in order to keep the Chinese culture’scharacteristics, and can be inherited well.
