Leisure Time And Man’s Comprehensive Development

Leisure time and comprehensive development of people have long been the focus ofstudy for theorists from home and abroad since ancient times. China’s reform andopening up and rapid economic development, not only enrich the material and culturallife for people, but also create more leisure time, especially providing more space andopportunities for man’s comprehensive development. In this case, the research on leisuretime and people’s comprehensive development have once again become the focus of thetheoretical study. Although there are numerous theoretical results on leisure time andpeople’s all-round development, very a few are on the relationship between these twostudies. Based on this fact, the author believes that apart from studying leisure time andall-round development of people respectively, we also need to combine these tworesearch. Taking China’s actual situation into consideration, we should make full use ofthe existing leisure time to promote the comprehensive development of people by havinga scientific understanding of the relationship between them.This paper includes six parts: The first part is introduction; the second part istheoretical explanation on leisure time; the third part is the interpretation ofcomprehensive development of people; the fouth part is on the relationship betweenleisure time and the comprehensive development of people; the fifth part is thesignificance of some leisure time for man’s comprehensive development; the sixth part ishow to promote man’s comprehensive development by creating and using leisure time.Part I: In introduction part, it mainly explains the reasons for choosing this topic, thesignificance of this paper, research status, literature review, research ideas andinnovations.Part II: For the second part, it mainly expounds the meaning of leisure time, threemajor characteristics (objective, practical, and social historic), and ways to create andmake full use of leisure time.Part III: The third part is the explanation on comprehensive development of people. Itmainly expounds the definition of comprehensive development of people, as well as theunified relation among the ideal and the reality, individual and class, process and resultsof the all-round development of people. From a macro perspective, the main issues ofman’s comprehensive development is to deal with the relationship among man and nature,man and man, man and himself. In specific terms, the comprehensive development of man is the harmony between man and nature, harmony between man and society, man’spersonality, abilities, needs ect, which are all in full swing. Comprehensive humandevelopment depends on the liberation and development of the social productive forces,as well as full use of leisure time which they create.Part IV: The fourth part is mainly concerned with the relation between leisure timeand the comprehensive development of man. The relation between them is dialecticalunity. Leisure time is necessary, but not sufficient condition for full development of man;it is a standard for measuring man’s full development. Man’s comprehensivedevelopment is an impetus to create and make full use of leisure time, and also theultimate purpose of leisure time.Part V: The fifth part explains the significance of leisure time for man’s overalldevelopment. It mainly expounds that leisure time not only provides ’time’, but alsoprovides ’space’ for man’s comprehensive development.Part VI: At present stage, the creation and use of leisure time to promote thecomprehensive development mainly include: to promote the comprehensive developmentof man must be a correct understanding of leisure time, and must promote thecomprehensive development of human science to make good use of their leisure time,accelerate comprehensive human development must strive to create leisure time toachieve all-round development of the people must achieve a virtuous circle. On the basisof analysis of problems on leisure time and man’s all-round development, at present stage,we propose correspondent solutions. That is to have a correct understanding of leisuretime, take full advantage of it and to make efforts to create a virtuous circle.Through expounding the above six parts, this paper tries to figure out the dialecticalrelation between leisure time and man’s all-round development by analyzing leisure andman’s comprehensive human development, as well as the significance of leisure time forall-round development of people. As a result, Taking our own situation into consideration,at present stage, we need to have a correct understanding of leisure time, and also makeefforts to create and make full use of leisure time, to achieve a virtuous circle andpromote the comprehensive development of man.
