Study On Music And Singing Characteristics Of Xiushan Festive Lantern Songs

It’s a kind of wonderful folk art with a wild population in Xiushan County, which is the gateway of Southeast Chongqing. In2006, it is ruled as a national intangible cultural heritage with the art style of primitive simplicity, elegant, witty and lyric. It is welcomed by people of all ages. And the lantern music plays a decisive role in Xiushan festive lantern. Moreover, the lantern songs are the soul of Xiushan festive lantern music. Xiushan festive lantern songs are so charming with rich content, beautiful melodies as well as the unique singing art. There are many outstanding representatives about it spreading around the world, like "Boxwood Shoulder Pole","Sweet Vernal Grass" and "A Handful of Rapeseed", which should be further studied.This paper is some study on Xiushan festive lantern songs. It’s based on some literatures and available information from the field investigation collected by the author, with the guide of some relative theories, such as the folk music, the folklore, the vocal music education system.
