Foreign language, as a communication tool in China, has played a vital role in the socio-economic progress, in particular, the importance of students’oral English has been evidently increasing. Judging from the present situation of Chinese College students’ oral English, the overall situation is not optimistic. On one hand, students’personal ability and study skills can not meet the need of massive English input, on the other hand, there are still many problems on English teaching, for example, the single teaching method and teacher-centered teaching model cannot stimulate students’interest in learning English. Therefore, how to improve college students’oral English level and the practical ability of using English as a second language have become a more and more significant social concerns, all of these are problems that need to be solved urgently in the field of college English teaching. In order to face up with the opportunities and challenge, our education system, teaching content and forms need a significant change, which suggests us should provide faster, wider and more updating knowledge to improve teaching quality and efficiency; let students get more knowledge within a very short time; give students more space and time on independent study and activities; train high quality talent people with modern consciousness. Computer resources can break down the limitation of time and space, provide people with massive information, under this circumstance, computer-assisted language learning came into being.This article focuses on the current rising of computer-assisted language learning in education, as well as analyzing the present situation of oral English teaching in China’s universities; we are identifying the tools available on the internet to see how to use internet resources to conduct an in-depth study of spoken language learning. This article describes how to use the network for cooperative and independent learning, do an empirical study on effective learning software and then explore how to use the unlimited network of resources to achieve the goal of improving oral communicative competence. This article is intended to use an English learning software to improve oral English ability, the author analyze the effects of this software in improving students oral English learning through empirical analysis, comparative tests, interviews and other methods, proving that such learning methods really plays a very important role in improving students’ oral English ability and which should be promoted.This article is divided into six parts. The first part is the background of the study, including purpose and structure of the paper. The second part is the literature review, primarily on the overall summary of computer-assisted language learning, including its definition, history, theory, and teacher’s role in it, the author in this part also talks about the oral English ability, as well as analyzing the present research at home and abroad. This part also briefly introduces the software, the characteristics and the assessment of it. The third part is the investigation of the study, including the objects, the subjects, the research instruments, research steps of the study, and then, the author will analyze the data, the author also provide a complete set of teaching procedure about how does Lang Fly software improve oral English ability in classroom. The fourth part is the implementation and suggestions on computer-assisted language learning, including the advantages and disadvantages of this software, and giving advice on how to improve the effect of the software. The fifth part is the conclusion part. The sixth chapter is the bibliography.
