"Testimony" issue within the epistemology has a long history, and at the same time, a "new issues" has stood out with the time going, this "new" in the extension of its meaning, thought of, and increase in research methods. These characteristics appear to further strengthen the "testimonies" problem within the epistemology of important roles. This paper aims to further reveal its abundant connotation and value by combing "testimony" issue from history to contemporary academic path, in particular its important role on the development of social epistemology. This article is divided into the following areas:The introduction part has simply combed the macroscopic trend of the "testimony" issue,demonstrated the basic survey in the general overview of the development of philosophical epistemological perspective and purpose and thrust of this discussion.The first chapter mainly studies it through clarifying the essence of this concept named "testimony" putting it limited in the epistemology especially in the linguistic environment of social epistemology. Meanwhile introduces and analyzes its process in the philosophy history connotation one by one.Chapter II undertakes the analysis of "testimonies" connotation, focuses on the discussion and analysis of the "testimonies" issue related to the difference, and introduces the earliest two main paths of philosophical research on the matter of Hume and Reid.Chapter III expands further as Hume and Reed’s thought, there have been a variety of research approach and methods, on the basis of the analysis and discussion of ideas,this article starts a demonstration on the "testimonies" issue.Chapter IV has carried on the proof and introduction in the function of "testimony" issue in social epistemology linguistic environment because of exposition on the the importance of "testimony" issue in the epistemology domain day by day.
