Leo-Tolstoy is one of the most famous Russian writers for his critical realism in the19th century.A series of his literary masterpieces reflected the historical evolution of Pussia and the social trends.In this way,he has made a great contribution to our human beings’cultural development.His works and religious beliefs played a significant role in the world literary field and impacted greatly on later generations.The thesis is composed of two parts.In the first part,it made a generalization about how his religious concepts was formed and how he was aware of and understand the humaning.Aiming at the universal charity,it advocates the self-improvement by means of insisting on moral principles and the defiance of vices by means of sticking to non-violence and the religiousn concepts based on penitence and abstention.In the second part,it makes a brief introduction about his several creating stages in which it analyses the characters’ greligious concepts and their research on the spiritual"road"in aurobiograhies.It mainly analyzes Nekhludoff in Childhood, Juvenile, Youth, A landlord in the morning and Luzem; Olenin in Cossack; Andre and Buel in War And Peace; Levon in Anna Karenina and Nekhludoff in Resurrection and so on.
