Inner Mongolia, have rich and colorful folk music, music theory in Inner Mongolia has a profound cultural connotation and distinctive national character, music workers in the nation in the warmth of the family, constantly pioneering and enterprising created many excellent music theory and criticism.Since the "new age"that appeared a rich academic achievements on the theory of Inner Mongolia, which published in the form of text or print, but no one to these theoreticala chievement analysis and research in a system atic way. So that is necessary to stroing and in duction the Inner Mongolia thory and criticism,according to the chronological order divided into there stages: review and introspection(1978-1980’s), summarize the empirical and research (in the late1980s-1980’s); In multiple points of view of research to introduce (1990s-at the beginning of the21st century) to the development of music art theory and criticism of Inner Mongolia are introduced. Secondly,summarized the characteristics of Inner Mongolia music art theory and criticism, which embodied in:Multi-disciplinary theories and methods of intervention,Which involves music sociology, ethnomusicology, music morphology, music aesthetics, etc.nationality and regionality;and puts forward the existing problems. Finally, put forward own thinking opinions in the development of Inner Mongolia music art theory and criticism.
