The Comparison Of Liang Qichao And Qianmu’s Chinese And Western Culture Communion View

Liang-Qichao and Qian-Mu are both famous for historical research and traditional Chinese culture research, which both have a great influence in China’s modern history. Due to different’Hui-Tong’ concept, they both have different view between Chinese and western culture communion. Liang-Qichao promoted to make the Chinese and western culture communicated, trying to introduce the advanced western politics to make traditional culture into modernity way. Otherwise, Qian-Mu think that before the communion we should first see the differences between two kinds of civilization, in order to do better in communicating the two different kinds of civilizations. So Liang-Qichao’s’Hui-Tong’tend to mirror western civilization to search for the modernization of the traditional culture; And Qian-Mu pays more attention to Chinese traditional culture. This paper attempts to use the two different’Hui-Tong’as the breakthrough point, discussing communion between Chinese and western culture, which raise form Liang-Qichao and Qian-Mu.The full paper can be divided into preface, body and conclusion three parts. Body of the first chapter discusses the background of Chinese and western culture’s communion and the overall characteristics of Liang-Qichao and Qian-Mu’s ideal. Chapter2analysis how the two kinds of’Hui-Tong’make they have different concept between the two civilization’s communication and what the characteristics of their own concept. This is the main part of the paper. The third chapter which from era background and the different aspects such as academic background, academic personality, discuss why they have different concept between Chinese and western culture communion. The fourth chapter illustrates both the advantages and disadvantages of their own concept.The conclusion mainly discusses that during culture exchange between east and west in the modern society, how to learn strengths of the concept from Liang-Qichao and Qian-Mu; their concept of culture are still valuable to the modernization of Chinese culture.
