The Catholicism is a branch of Christianity, and Mongolian people believe it from early times. Today, a part of Mongolian people in Poro-Balgason still believe it, and their lifestyle, customs, culture and education has been influenced by it. This paper is going to analyzes and discusses their customs using the ways of participating, observation and in-depth interview in field investigation of folklore as research methods. This paper is consisting of six parts:the introduction, main chapters, summary, bibliography, appendix and the postscript. The introduction part gives a brief description of research purposes, significance, overview, theories and approaches as well as the data source, innovative points of research and existing problems. In the first chapter, the history of Mongolians who believe in Catholicism is generally introduced and then concluded as follows: Roman Catholicism was begun to spread among Mongolians on the basis of the spread of Nestorian which has been transmitted to the Mongolian plateau at an early time and real Catholics appeared among Mongolians in the late13th and early14th century. During the Qing Dynasty, although the prohibition of church policy which was implemented by the Qing government could hardly be miss ionized within the Qing jurisdiction of Mongolians, the Catholicism began to spread among Mongolians again after the two opium wars, especially prevailed in Mongolians in Poro-Balgason town of Front Otog Banner, Ordos. Today, nearly all of the Mongolians of Poro-Balgason believe in Catholicism. This chapter also makes a brief introduction to Poro-Balgason town, which is the living environment of Mongolian believers who are the main research object of the paper. In the second chapter, the concept of religious belief of Poro-Balgason Mongolians who believe in Catholicism are systematically introduced, while making detailed analysis on the opinion about Khukhin-Shashin—new term for Catholic. On this basis, it is demonstrated that the formation of concepts of religious belief of Poro-Balgason Mongolian Catholic believers is usually ascribed to Catholic religious views and also influenced by the concept of traditional beliefs of local Mongolians.Besides, the paper makes a distinction on the national etiquette between Poro-Balgason Mongolians and some other local Mongolians who all have different etiquettes in the third chapter. At last, the thesis makes a detailed analysis and research on the folk culture of Poro-Balgason Mongolians who believe in Catholicism from the perspective of ethnology, sociology, anthropology, religious studies and so on. From the content and procedure embodies in the national etiquette, it is proved that the religious culture of Poro-Balgason Mongolians accepted the outer Catholicism and absorbed the Chinese culture and Buddhism culture on the basis of Mongolian traditional culture. Therefore, the culture of Mongolia, Chinese, Buddha and Catholic beliefs are easily combined and formed a unique culture of Mongolian beliefs, which is different from other culture of the same Catholic beliefs. This is also the conclusion of the thesis.
