The Mongolians in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia live together with the Han for a long time, which therefore makes great changes have taken place in the fields of production life, culture, custom and other respects. The changes of the economic mode of production have made profound transformation in the Mongolian culture depending on nomadic economy, which also maps deep on the Mongolian religious beliefs. The Mongolian traditional beliefs in this area have been deeply influenced by the strong social policy and powerful Han culture. Shamanism has gradually disappeared, and Lamaism also gradually declined after the Cultural Revolution. As the result,original belief system has collapsed. Christianity, the new belief has been introduced nearly 30 years and developed rapidly. In addition, Lamaism also has a tendency to revival since the 21st century, both of which have become the main religion beliefs in the area. The developing of these two religions in this area reflects the general characteristics of Chinese rural religions. At the same time, some new specialties and the development trend also emerge in the background of the interaction between Mongolian culture and Han culture. The thesis will firstly focus on discussing the sex, age, income level and physical condition of the Mongolian believers in Y village according to the investigation materials. The thesis secondly probes the Christianity and Lamaism from the aspects of introduction pathway, the reasons of the beliefs, the belief mode and the impact of the local Mongolian people based on the Mongolian and Han culture.At the third part of the thesis, the author will try to state the general situation and characteristics of the Mongolian religious beliefs in this area. In addition, the author focuses on the reasons that lead Mongolian belief transformation from tradition to modern times, and discusses this point from the four aspects of economy, society, culture, and personal psychology and put forward some conclusions.
