The application of natural language text understanding technology in the field ofmechanical design is one of the important and difficult points in artificial intelligencetechnology. This paper is about the understanding of natural language text clusteringmodel and its application to the mechanical product design, focusing on chapter eventscause aggregation model, finally achieve a better communication between the systemand users, and to support the future design through the understanding and analyzing ofthe user’s needs expressed in the form of natural language.First of all, this paper detailed introduces the existing method for semanticanalysis and knowledge representation, then combined with the feature of the naturallanguage understanding system which based on the knowledge, the method ofknowledge representation based on the combination of conceptual dependency theoryand the framework and rules is chosen; secondly, discussed the expression way of thecausation which is divided into parataxis and hypotaxis, and introduced indicates of acausal marker, then the causal relationship is classified; then described the aggregationmodel of causal expressed by a intention legal method in detail, the model used causalknowledge; then using expert system developing tool to achieve this model; finally,Elaborated the application of natural language understanding causality converge modelin mechanical product intelligent design field.
