The Fugue is a popular Polyphony genre in Baroque period. It had been achieved to an unattainable pinnacle in the music as Bach’s works. Arnold Schoenberg pioneered a composition technology Twelve-tone method in1924. Is there any possible to merge the mentioned two seemingly opposing system? Does the standard of Twelve-tone method also suit for Fugue’s rigorous structure? It does to be the study purpose of this thesis.Composers in the21st century, whether continuing the traditional or trying to establish the new music language, they have successful developed some distinct musical expression methods. In this process, it takes in any period regardless of genre, theme, composition technology, even for those different trends which had been seemed expanding toward the antithesis opposition direction have a variety of possibilities for integration.Using twelve-tone method to compose fugue have appeared in the contemporary composers’ musical works, but the quantity is still very little. However, it reflect the composers’ interests and efforts in using twelve-tone method to compose fugue. At the same time, in their music works, whether the subject’s presentation, or change of answer and countersubject, or the new interpretation of the episode, the middle part, the end part, so that the ancient genre of Fugue full of vitality.
