The Semantic Analysis And Rhetoric Interpretation On Morpheme "Soil" And The Terms Combined With It

This thesis focuses on the semantic system of the "soil" and its rhetorical forming way,it holds the viewpoints that there is a certain contact between the original meaning and extended meaning of the word "soil", meanwhile the main way of forming semantics is metonymy and extension.Moreover,the evolution and development of the words,which consist of the morpheme "soil",can not be separated from rhetoric.The pathways of forming rhetoricization of semantic can be roughly epitomized into five parts:metonymy, analogy, periphrasis,personification and allusion.Forming words by using metonymy is the most numerous and followed by using metaphor style,while others ways such as personification and periphrasis are less used.The paper mainly discusses semantic feature as well as semantic field of produce words and figure words with "soil",analyses different aesthetic ways and psychological acceptances to rhetoric caused by produce words and figure words with "soil".In addition, it probe into the two opposite views held by people toward "soil", which is the cultural source of the reception and rejection psychology.At the same time,according to some observations and analysis,the paper discusses rhetoric category of "soil" and its near-synonym word "land",the connotation of "soil11"(as shown in the paper page10,the11th sememe of "soil") and the word "out",as well as some rhetoric cognitive style and culture psychology implied by the meaning of different words.
