Harmony But Not Sameness

Pipa tune "Swan" is a work of Mr. Liu Dehai created in1984, is one of the5"chapter in life" works. The tune is evolved on the basis of the traditional folk music, this one innovates more than traditional ones. This work creates some new technology techniques like "bounce","hooked", and it is a modern and contemporary pipa techniques loved by many pipa players and music lovers. In this paper, the writer analyses the techniques of "Swan", which embodies Mr. Liu Dehai inherits the tradition, willing to explore, and the courage to make change and innovation.
